Let forgiveness enter into your heart.

You look into their eyes, try to make sense to what they say, but all you feel is hurt and you can't see past the pain.
In the next moment, they are already gone, and all that is left for you is their memory.
The cold truth of them leaving, leaves you with so much grieving, but there is nothing left for you to do or say.
They've gone away, they're gone away.

I am sure that you all can recall a time that someone has hurt you, decieved you, let you down, lied to you..
Of course this is probably not a happy memory, but not all our memories can be happy.

It was just last night that I spoke to the person who broke my heart the most for the first time in two years. I really didn't know how to react. Should I tell her I don't want to see her? Should I ignore her? Then she said that simple word, "please". "Please Bridgette, talk to me."
There was no reason that I should just push her aside and ignore her. All that she asked was for a moment of my time so she could say the things she wanted to say, so I gave her that moment.
Memories of the past swimming through my mind, remembering everything that I had tried so hard to forget. I remember what the pain felt like fresh in my heart.
She apologized to me, for everything that had happened. I could hear it in her voice that her apology came from her heart, and of course, I told her that all was forgiven long ago. What reason would I have not to forgive her? She took time to speak to me in person and pour out all that she was feeling. She took the time, to tell me that she was sorry...
I know that sometimes it is hard to put the past behind you, but let forgiveness into your heart. There is not a single person out there who will ever be perfect. We are only human, and we are bound to make mistakes in this life. It is those mistakes that build us to be the person we are today. Everybody has a reason for why they are the way they are and why they do the things they do. Sometimes your not going to understand why, but you can at least try.
I know that I have done things that I wish I could take back, said things that I wish I never said. There are things that I am deeply sorry about, but there is nothing I can do to change what happened. The only thing I can do, is realize what I did and grow from it.
With such an apology how could I turn away? To turn away from her then would only be possible if I didn't have a heart. That is why I did my best in showing her that she still has a special place in my heart and always will.
I see all the struggles in the world, all the things people have to go through, which is why I forgive..
That moment last night is a moment I will cherish. Oh how meaningful a single moment can be.

Cherish every moment you spend with someone, you never know when you might see them again. Forgive someone if they ask you for forgiveness, they are only human after all.
Love,
Bridgette

I am the love that dare not speak it's name.

NOH8 CAMPAIGN
MISSION STATEMENT: The NOH8 Campaign is a charitable organization whose mission is to promote marriage, gender and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest.

I ask you to have an open mind about this blog.

When it comes to the topic of sexuality it can be uncomfortable for many people, so I will apologize right now if my blog offends you in any way because I am going to cross that awkward boundary and talk about homosexuality.

The NOH8 campaign is a silent protest against proposition 8, which eliminates rights of same same-sex couples to marry. H8 is short for "proposition hate", a nickname given to proposition 8 by critics.
I will proudly stand up and say to you all that I support the NOH8 campaign with all that I am.
Also, I will proudly say to you that I am a lesbian. There is no need for me to hide that fact. :)
Often times, people who are homosexual are looked down upon in society, but why? Your sexuality does not define who you are, so why is it that homosexuals are looked at as if they are lower than everyone else?
There is nothing easy about being homosexual because no matter where you go, you will have someone tell you that you are wrong.
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect whether they are straight, bi, gay, lesbian; they are only human after all, and love is love. You should able to love without having to fear about it as well. There are so many people out there who live a lie because  a huge part of society is not going to accept them for being homosexual.
There is a difference between agreeing and accepting. You don't have to agree with the homosexual lifestyle or turn your back on your faith or your beliefs to accept people for who they are.
It shouldn't be expected that every human being will be the same. Things aren't just black and white in life, we live in a world of color, and we must learn to accept the variety in this world that you will certainly see everywhere you go.

"Homosexuality is like the weather. It just is" -Andrew Sullivan.

Society makes people believe that homosexuality is a choice, but in fact, it is ones nature, and we all have our own individual nature. You can't just tell your heart what you want it to feel, it will be the one to tell you when it feels something special.
One time, I heard someone say that homosexuality is a mental disorder. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you love with your heart, not your head... There is no reason that anyone person out there should be looked down upon because of the way they feel for another individual.
I realize that you are all going to think and believe what you want, but I want you to open your mind to what I just said. I hope you can take something with you from my blog because this is me speaking out for all the people who live a homosexual lifestyle and for myself.
Thank you for reading.
Love, Bridgette.

My Release.

I try to talk and explain what's going through my head, but I can't find a way to say it. I'm not very good at trying to explain what i feel. I open my mouth and all the wrong words come out, so instead I let the words flow through my hands. The easiest way for me to express myself is through writing. When i'm on an emotional roller coaster and I need to get things off my chest, I vent all my emotions into a poem. I don't really like to share my poems with anyone, but I will. It's my release... and today... i need a release.

Soo....

Here goes my best attempt at trying to explain the things I feel in my heart.
I guess it's true, that i got attached to you to soon.
Honestly, I couldn't stop it. You had me from the start.
Like the fluttering of a hummingbirds wings, something awoke in the depths of my soul.
A feeling i've never felt, not even in my dreams, took over me entirely and for once,
I felt whole.
My mind has been entirely consumed, my heart following that same path.
But have I just become an abandoned memory, blowing through the winds of your past?
Oh how badly I hoped that this would last.
Looking up, looking down, you are nowhere to be found.
Something about you, it just felt so right.
Where have you disappeared to darling? I need your guiding light.
I apologize.
Your beauty struck me, so suddenly.
So suddenly I felt you in my heart.
You're gone now. My mind is in a hopeless wander.
Completely lost on how to keep myself from falling apart.
Your vow of silence, it cuts through me like a knife.
Just for this moment, i'll pretend everything is alright.
Realizing that it's time to let you go.
Realizing I can't let go.
Don't let me go.
I'm falling.
I'm fading.
Sweet misery please save me.
Just hoping that you know...
No matter how bad this hurts,
You're worth every second you've been on my mind.
Your smile still shines brightly
Your eyes show your gorgeous soul
Wishing to sit there and hold you so tightly. Wishing.
                                                                               Wishing.
                                                                                             Wishing.
I wish I didn't have to let you go, but I must.
I think knowing that is what hurts the most..

Love, me.
